Job Overview
Big Tex Trailers has an immediate opening for a Purchasing Coordinator in Mt. Pleasant, TX. The general purpose of this position is to assist the Buyer with coordination of supplies and material necessary for production of Pro-Grade trailers at our facility. This position will report directly to the Materials Manager.
Job Responsibilities
- Primary point of contact for the Retail Parts team in placing purchase orders with suppliers.
- Liaison between Retail Parts team and production team regarding the scheduling of needed painted parts.
- Assist with confirmation of current pricing from suppliers in order to ensure timely payment of invoices upon arrival.
- Coordinate with suppliers on anticipated delivery dates for material and record any changes in ERP system for communication with team.
- Follow-up on past due PO’s and notify buyer of any issues in order to determine alternative needs.
- Assist with clearing invoice variances for timely payment to suppliers.
- Ensure proper stocking of office supplies and coordination of requisitions with department managers.
- Other duties as assigned.
Physical Demands & Work Environment
- Able to lift up to 50 lbs; ability to demonstrate full range of motion for reaching, bending, kneeling, and stooping.
- May be exposed to extreme heat and cold depending on weather.
- May be subject to dirt, dust, oil, welding fumes, traffic hazards, and high noise levels in the workplace.
