Description
The Sales Associate’s primary responsibility is ensuring customer satisfaction before, during and after the sale. The Sales Associate spends a large portion of their time providing information to customers regarding product offerings, pricing, and lead times. The Sales Associate will report to the Sales Managers but will support the Sales Representative for their assigned territory on a day-to-day basis. This is a performance-based position with an emphasis on continued growth.

Requirements
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
- Develop and maintain relationships with potential and existing customers.
- Identify and locate new customers through a variety of methods, including trade shows, networking, and cold calls.
- Assist with resolving customer satisfaction issues related to production, shipping, and post-sale activities.
- Interface with a diverse customer base comprised of business owners, procurement officers, distributors, and members of the general public.
- Respond to customer inquiries concerning products, their uses, pricing, and lead times, and apply knowledge of product features to match customer needs.
- Periodically report results, status of accounts and leads to management.
- Communicate customer requirements to internal & external stakeholders.
- Use sales and negotiation skills to meet quotas established by management.
- Assist in creating regional marketing campaigns including literature, direct mail and web content.
- Other duties as assigned.
Required Skills & Abilities:
- Competent in Micro-Station and Auto-CAD (on-the-job training provided).
- Ability to read and understand technical drawings, proposals, and contracts.
- Must have knowledge of product and fabrication process (on-the-job training provided).
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
- Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills.
- Strong time-management skills with the ability to multi-task and prioritize assignments.
- Highly organized and detail oriented.
- Team player; ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams.
- Some travel to meet customers and attend trade shows is required.
- Ability to function well in a fast-paced environment.
Education and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree required; will consider candidates currently pursuing degree, so long as degree is received within 6 months of starting the position.
- Sales experience in military, construction, marine or environmental industry is preferred.
Physical Demands:
- Must be able to accurately exchange information with co-workers, management, vendors, and customers.
- Constantly operates a computer and other office machinery, such as copiers, printers, and telephones.
- Must be able to remain in a stationary position for 95% of the time.
- Normal work hours are Monday through Friday from 7:30 am - 5:00 pm. Additional hours may be required to meet performance objectives.
