Position: Substance Use Disorder Program Coordinator
Salary: Starting at $25.00 per hour
Hours: Full-Time
Reports To: Social Services Director

Position Summary:
The position is responsible for working with Big Valley Community members in providing opioid and stimulants related education, training, stigma reduction, harm prevention, cultural practices, and program implementation.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES:
- Maintain a high level of professional behavior and degree of confidentiality.
- Community outreach
- Maintain and coordinate Tribal Opioid Local Coalition
- Coordinate community opioid education related events.
- Support recovery and peer support services.
- Implement harm reduction strategies.
- Provide culturally appropriate opioid education and training.
- Refer clients to outside agencies, if needed.
- Respond to referrals.
- Transport clients.
- Always maintain confidentiality of information.
- Coordinate collection efforts with partnering agencies.
- Represents Big Valley Rancheria at local community meetings and events.
- Provide monthly reports to Program Director.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Experienced in QPR, ASSIST, TMAT and SUD.
- Experienced with Naloxone training.
- Experience working with Tribal Families.
- Experience with group facilitation.
- Excellent organizational, time management and communication skills.
- Must have the ability to maintain a cooperative, diplomatic working relationship with co‐ workers, supervisors, families and the community.
- Must demonstrate flexibility in work settings, maturity of judgment and ability to work well with others.
- Strong computer skills with Microsoft Office, Outlook, and Zoom.
Other Requirements:
- Must be eligible for coverage under the Tribe’s vehicle insurance policy.
- Must possess a valid California driver’s license.
- Preference in hiring is given to qualified American Indians in accordance with the Indian Preference Act (Title 25 U.S. Code, § 472 and 473). Applicants claiming Indian preference must submit verification by Tribe of affiliation or other acceptable documentation of Tribal Enrollment.
- Able to pass a BVR drug test.
- Work involves periods of sitting, walking, bending, crouching, stooping, stretching, reaching, or similar activities, and lifting moderately heavy items, 25 lbs.
- Must be able to satisfactorily complete a background check and a pre-employment screening.
