What are the responsibilities and job description for the Communications Coordinator position at Big Voice Communications, LLC?
Our communication coordinators partner with account and program leaders to develop and execute marketing and public relations activities for our clients. They should be a capable communication professional able to handle a broad variety of tasks with increasing independence, time management and sound judgement.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Guides day-to-day development of public relations activities with approved plans.
- Attends strategy and planning meetings with the client and with other account team members.
- Corresponds daily with clients and the media, often via telephone and email.
- Ensures that progressive stages are approved with adequate time to meet schedules, reporting any significant changes to the team.
- Assists in preparation of campaign proposals and budgets.
- Proofreads copy and other media for accuracy.
- Prepares regular client reports and attending client meetings.
- Maintains database of media contacts and influencers.
- Researches, writes and distributes / pitches press releases to targeted media.
- Assists with content creation including the production of client publications, such as in-house newsletters and website copy.
- Assists with digital marketing strategy.
- Collates, analyzes and evaluates media coverage.
- Assists with event management, including press conferences and promotional events.
- Create / generate copy and creative for client social media accounts.
- Makes revisions to client websites as needed.
- Works as part of an account team to develop client proposals and implement the PR activity.
- Assists with new business proposals and presenting to potential new clients.

Small office environment located in New Haven, Conn.
WORK HOURS
Flexible work hours are considered.
TRAVEL DEMANDS
Limited local travel and minimal air / train travel required (2-4 times a year).
