We are a district that serves over 6,700 students and employs 750 employees in a northwestern suburb of Minneapolis, Minnesota. Our district consists of one primary school for kindergarten students, three elementary schools for grades 1-4, two middle schools for grades 5-8, and one high school for grades 9-12.
Position Overview & Responsibilities
Responsible for developing and providing specialized, research-based instruction to meet the unique needs of students with disabilities. Also responsible for evaluating and assessing student progress against instructional objectives and following state mandated due process procedures and functions. Start date: August 25, 2025 (new-to-district teacher orientation is August 19 and 20, 2025)
FTE: 1.0
Contract: 186 days ( 2 new-to-district orientation)
Requirements & Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in education and required teaching certificate in Special Education as required by the State of Minnesota, specific content knowledge, training, or job experience required before appointment, and successful student teaching. ASD licensure is preferred.
Assignments
Special education teachers work by district assignment and may be moved between buildings and/or programs based on student needs, location of certain programs, student count(s), and applicable licensure.
Salary & Benefits
Competitive salary and benefits package. For more information, please see the Certified Master Contract 2023-2025. Salary range listed ($46,417-$98,146) is based on the collective bargaining agreement for 2024-2025 school year, and may increase once the 2025-2026 collective bargaining agreement is signed. Full-time (1.0 FTE) certified staff benefits.
