Job Title: Porter/Custodial
About the Role:
We are seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Porter/Custodial to join our team at Big Y. As a key member of our store operations, you will play a vital role in maintaining a clean, safe, and attractive environment for our customers and employees.
Main Responsibilities:
- Maintenance and janitorial duties throughout the store
- Cleaning and sanitizing the meat cutting area, kitchen, and bakery area
- Maintaining proper department conditions and supplies (e.g., racks, sales floor, bottle redemption area, closets, workstations)
- Operating equipment/machinery as needed
Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and stand for long periods
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills
- Flexibility to work varied shifts, including weekends and holidays
