Job Overview: Utilizes voltage monitoring test equipment to test performance evaluation of Solar Inverters and accessories (Industrial control boxes) during the production process to ensure function capabilities. Here are the key responsibilities and requirements for this role.
Responsibilities:
- Conduct performance tests on solar modules using specialized laboratory equipment such as Circuit Board Programming Flashers and DMMs.
- Perform daily calibration of test equipment to ensure accuracy.
- Carry out tests in compliance with IEC and UL standards for safety and performance.
- Record and analyze test results accurately, often using Microsoft Excel and other desktop applications.
- Work closely with Production Assemblers on assembly and testing procedures and maintain testing equipment.
- Ensure product conformance through functional testing using standard test equipment.
Qualifications & Skills:
- High school diploma or technical certification; Associate's degree in Electronics or related field not required but preferred.
- Experience in a test laboratory atmosphere, particularly with a mechanical or electrical background.
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively across teams.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to lift and handle solar modules weighing up to 50-60 lbs.
- Knowledge of inventory management systems or prior experience in inventory reconciliation is a plus.
Working Environment
Solar test technicians in manufacturing settings typically work indoors in a laboratory or production facility. They may be required to stand for long periods and handle heavy equipment. The work environment is generally clean and well-lit, but may involve exposure to electrical systems and testing equipment.
This role is crucial in ensuring the quality and efficiency of solar panels before they are installed in the field, contributing significantly to the overall performance and reliability of solar energy systems.
