PRIMARY DUTIES :
The Production Technician will assemble industrial packages from bare parts, in job shop and production environment. This includes mechanical connections, supports and structures, and control panels.Ability to perform tasks related to production and warehousing.
DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS :
- Electronic Panel Assembly experience is desired
- Read & interpret assembly drawings, P&IDs and electrical schematics
- Mechanical skills
- Physically able (lifting of 50 lbs. occasionally)
- Work well independently / self-starter and with a team
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES :
Such duties include, but are not limited to
Assemble mechanical components, such as, air ends, blowers and other compressed air system components, working on a shop floorInspects components for proper assembly, specifications, fit and finishAssembles and positions components according to knowledge of unit being assembled and through interpretation of engineering drawings or electrical schematicsPositions components with a forklift, overhead crane or manually fastens parts together with bolts, screws, rivets, or other fasteners, using hand and portable powered toolsBend and install tubing and fittings for oil lubrication / cooling systemsInstall plumbing.Align couplings and sub-assemblies to gearbox or other componentsMaintaining staged parts and liaison between production and partsMinimum forklift experience preferred but not requiredWork in conjunction with Production Foreman to ensure all duties are complete to end of unitsPerform all workstation and shop clean-up duties as assignedEDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE
Qualifications and Requirements :
Education : High School diploma or GED preferred, but not required.Previous experience may include mechanical assembly and disassembly.Preferred Skills :
Requires the ability to use and function with handheld mechanical measurement devices (micrometer, dial indicator, caliper) as well as electrical measurement devices (Fluke meter).Ability to apply electrical and mechanical principlesRead and wire equipment in conformance with electrical schematicsRecognize common mechanical and electrical componentsExcellent communication skillsMust work well with others in a safe and self-directed mannerPhysical Demands :
Exert force of 25 lbs. frequently and 50-100 lbs. occasionally. Constant stooping, balancing, crouching, reaching, fingering, and feeling.Environmental Working Conditions :
Noise intensity level is occasionally loud while testing machinery, hearing protection furnished.Pay Scale :
