Position: Barista & Assistant Manager (Manager in Training MIT)
Location: Store #854 Cadillac, MI
Pay: 15.00 per hour plus monthly phone stipend (Significant pay increase provided once all training is completed and employee is placed into Manager role)
Reporting Line: Owner/Manager
Overview of position:
This position is a manager in training with the expectation of being promoted to full store manager within 1 year. All leadership roles at this store work as a Barista and on the line. Raises are considered thru management discretion and as training milestones are completed with excellence. This person must be energetic, dedicated, & passionate, who value a drama free, respectful, fun & family-like environment where we put the staff & customers above all else and strive towards personal & professional growth as a leader. Essential functions of the position:
This is a customer-oriented hands-on Barista working leadership position involving cash handling, making drinks, and management of people, COGS, budgets, and growing sales. Alignment and compliance of company core values is a must.
Responsibilities and Duties: Training will be approximately 6 months for all duties listed. All members of leadership are a working Barista.
· Fulfill role as a most experienced Barista
· Create weekly staff schedule
· ADP & Perco-O-Manager Systems: Manage Payroll preparation and time/attendance
· Make bank deposits
· Conduct and complete all new hire onboarding and training
· Recruit, Pre-screen, interview, hire, coach, mentor, and perform disciplinary actions of staff
· Manage and ensure all processes, procedures and policies are being upheld by self and staff.
· Work with owner in putting in place processes that create efficiencies within the business and for team members.
· Work as a Barista in all areas of the store as support backup, coverage, and high-volume time periods
· Support growth through team & individual mentorship, increase sales, support marketing strategies, comply with budgetary needs & and corporate compliance, manage, control, and track inventory.
· Oversee and manage all staff responsibilities
· Manage and complete weekly product ordering
· Manage completion of store maintenance calendars (monthly/weekly)
· Manage and ensure completion of monthly inventory
Requirements for the position:
· 1-year prior leadership experience managing or supervising staff, hiring, inventory, handling of cash, and scheduling
· Must be able to provide a minimum of 1 professional references (past employer references)
· Possess the following skills: relationship building, agility, adaptability, innovation, creativity, employee motivation, decision making, conflict management, negotiation, and critical thinking.

· Be available full time
· Be available to cover additional shifts to cover for staff call in’s and or planned time off. (Including weekends if coverage is not available by other staff members)
· Ability to complete Barista, shift leader, (Trainer platform) PERC-O-Lator, and Manager in Training qualification program and requirements within the first 90 days of hire. (Must pass post training testing)
· Preferred certification or associate degree in Business Management or equivalent years of work experience as a supervisor or assistant manager roles in retail or food service.
· Experience in ADP payroll preferred
· Proven customer support experience
· Possession of strong organizational skills with the ability to multi-task
· Strong phone contact handling skills and active listening
· Excellent verbal and written communication skills
· Must be a proficient user of Microsoft office suite
· Ability to take initiative with minimal supervision.
· Any and all further duties assigned by the Owner/Manager

Physical Requirements of the position: Biggby Store 854 Assistant Manager
Frequently required to use hand to finger motions, handle or feel objects, reach with • hands and arms. Regularly required to lift and / or move items up to 25 pounds. Bending, stooping, reaching, and standing for long periods of time. Vision requirements: Close vision, distance vision and ability to adjust and focus. Regularly required to handle food and hot liquids.
