POSITION SUMMARY:
BigHorn Automotive is expanding rapidly and we are looking to hire an ASE Certified Automotive Technician to join our team. This individual should have verifiable experience as an auto mechanic on cars, light trucks & jeeps. This individual is passionate about automotive maintenance and performs all work to the highest industry standard. If you love hard work that includes diagnosing, maintaining & and repairing customer vehicles, we want you on our team! This position reports to the General Manager
POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Perform maintenance and repair on customer vehicles
- Identify problems with vehicles using appropriate diagnostic equipment
- Explain automotive repairs and issues and provide great customer service
- Plan repair procedures using charts manuals and experience
- Test the functionality of parts and systems
- Perform basic auto care and maintenance tasks such as oil changes, fluid level checks, and tire rotation
- Repair and replace brake pads wheel bearings, sensors and other parts
- Perform routine maintenance and general mechanic work on vehicles
- Prepared to get additional certification as needed
- Willingness to learn with hands-on training
- Keep a professional appearance
- Keep and maintain a tidy workstation
- Communicate and comply with direction provided by the General Manager
- Supply your own personal diagnostic and hand tools
- Any other duties as assigned by the General Manager
POSITION REQUIREMENTS:
- Automotive and engine repair experience or auto mechanic training required
- Current B-Level ASE certifications required
- Possess and maintain a valid drivers license
- Must have and maintain a clean motor vehicle report
- Ability to maintain a professional appearance and provide friendly customer service
- Must read, interpret and transcribe data in order to maintain accurate records
- Must be able to speak, read & write in english
- Perform routine maintenance and other tasks in a fast-paced environment
- Must be able to lift objects frequently that weigh as much as 50lbs - 100lbs
- Experience as a lube technician, or be prepared to do on-the-job training
- Understanding of automotive theory, technology & components
- Must be able to operate diagnostic equipment
- Must have good hand-eye coordination
BONUS QUALIFICATIONS:
- Possess an associates degree related to the auto maintenance & repair field or similar
- High School diploma or equivalent
- Bilingual in Spanish
