POSITION SUMMARY
The Production Supervisor is a member of the Production Team reporting directly to the Production Manager. The Production Supervisor is accountable and responsible for managing departmental safety, environmental controls, development of production employees and plant production. Including quality control, protection of equipment, and departmental cost controls.
SUPERVISORY DUTIES
The Production Supervisor has direct reports of hourly employees assigned to perform manufacturing welding and assembly duties.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Manage and develop production employees to achieve established operations goals.
Responsibility for ensuring production employees are properly oriented and trained.
Develop and implement continuous improvement within department
Provide employee performance through regular feedback, coaching, and training.
Ensure that the department complies with Company policies and procedures.
Review, analyze and make recommendations regarding safety, quality, expenses, productivity, and employee feedback.
Develop and / or implement departmental reporting as required.
Participate in controlling the production department budget.
Maintain a high standard of professional knowledge, ethics, and practices when dealing with customers, suppliers, peers, subordinates, supervisors, and other key company stakeholders.
Conduct oneself professionally, reflecting integrity and respect towards customers, suppliers, peers, subordinates, supervisors, and other key stakeholders of the company.
Understand, support, and adhere to the company’s health and safety policies, programs, and procedures by communicating and promoting health and safety awareness to coworkers and subordinates.
Participate in the Company’s Finished Goods and Raw Material inventory count.
Other responsibilities and accountabilities as assigned.
Oversee welding team
Ensure conformance to safety requirements
Verify quality of welds
Train new and apprentice welders
Troubleshoot welding equipment issues
Monitor project progress
Coordinate welding team to fit project goals
QUALIFICATIONS / REQUIREMENTS
Demonstrated and related equivalent experience.
2 to 5 years manufacturing experience.
Experience leading and training people.
Effective team builder with demonstrated abilities.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Team player and able to build and maintain relationships both internal and external.
Flexible to change and open to constructive feedback.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Strong organizational and interpersonal skills.
