Our Exemplary Provider

- Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner certification.
- Board-certified to prescribe psychotropic medications in Iowa.
- Training and experience in treating clients with mental health disorders.
Job Responsibilities
- Provide high-quality individual psychiatric medication management to assist in increasing the client's quality of life.
- Provide education to clients and their families on the medications and appropriate usage.
- Evaluate clients’ physical or mental condition, based on a review of client information, including assessing clients for suicide and other self-harm, as well as harm to others.
- Collaborate with other staff members to perform the highest quality care for each client.
- Collaborate with physicians, clinicians, and other professionals to ensure collaborative care approaches when deemed necessary.
- Accurately fill out and maintain treatment records and reports, including federal and state-mandated forms, client diagnostic records, and progress notes within the deadlines specified in the handbook.
- Modify treatment activities or approaches as needed to comply with changes in clients’ status.
- Evaluate the effectiveness of medication for each client of their identified problems and move toward defined goals.
- Discuss with individual clients their plans for continued medication management if they decide to terminate care.
- Act as a client advocate to coordinate required services or to resolve emergency problems in crises.
- Learn about new developments in the medication field by reading professional literature, and attending courses, workshops, and trainings.
- Maintain professional liability coverage for the entire work period.

Requirements:
- Master's degree in ARNP(Advanced Registered Nurse Practitioner), MSN(Master of Science in Nursing), or PMHNPBC(Psychiatric-Mental Health Nurse Practitioner).
- Current state licensure/certification OR working toward your license as a nurse practitioner
- Proven experience in conducting mental health assessments and prescribing medication
- Strong knowledge of evidence-based counseling modalities and interventions
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a collaborative team
- Empathy, compassion, and confidence in dealing with clients in distress
- Proficient computer skills and familiarity with electronic health record systems
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience working with diverse populations and understanding cultural considerations in counseling
- Specialization or knowledge in specific areas such as trauma, substance abuse, or family therapy
- Experience with teletherapy or remote services
- Proficiency in additional languages
- Graduate-level degree in Master in ARNP(Advanced Registered Nurse Practitioner), MSN(Master of Science in Nursing), or PMHNPBC(Psychiatric-Mental Health Nurse Practitioner).
