Theatre Custodian

Type: Part-Time – 25-30 hours per week
Days/Hours:PM Shift – days & hours will rotate based on theatre activity

Job Knowledge, Core Competencies, and Expectations:

· Knowledge of cleaning supplies, equipment, and technologies required

· Able to administer all cleaning services for the theatre and staff areas

Summary:

Under the direction of the Facility Manager and Head Custodian, this part-time position performs janitorial duties for the theatre during performances and events. Ensure the theatre's highest standards of sanitation, safety, comfort, and aesthetics. Knowledge or willingness to learn proper cleaning techniques is essential. Ensures adequate supplies are on hand and alerts Facility Manager about items or areas requiring repair or replacement.

Roles & Responsibilities:

· Regular vacuuming, sweeping, and mopping of flooring and stairs

· Clean and sanitize bathrooms (nights & weekends required during production runs).

· Restock supplies in bathrooms and the theatre’s shared areas.

· Empty all trash cans, replace liners, and clean receptacles as necessary.

· Dusting and cleaning audience and backstage areas.

· Ensure the cleanliness of sinks, countertops, microwaves, and refrigerators in kitchen spaces.

· Cleaning exterior atrium, windowsills, windows, and doors.

· Maintain custodial closets in a clean, organized, and safe manner.

· Maintain custodial equipment in a clean, safe, and operable condition.

· Proper labeling, dilution, and use of all chemicals. Maintains MSDS forms and follows chemical safety guidelines.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

· Ability to follow oral and written instructions.

· Ability to prioritize multiple tasks

· Ability to work effectively with a team.

· Ability to work independently as needed to support the group effort.

· Basic knowledge of cleaning products or willingness to learn.

Qualifications:

· One year or more related experience. Theatre cleaning experience is a plus.

· Subject to a criminal background check.

Physical Demands:The work requires routine walking, standing, bending, and carrying items weighing less than fifty (50) pounds.

Pay: $15.00 - $17.50 per hour
