What are the responsibilities and job description for the Production Assembly - AWP position at Bil-Jax Haulotte?
PRODUCTION ASSEMBLY - AWP
Assembly of AWP Aerial Work Platforms used in the equipment rental, building and construction industries.
Major Functions:
- Handling, positioning, and placing components or sub-assemblies according to safety rules and available means (crane, slings, hand and power tools, etc.)
- Assembling components according to assembly processes
- Performing visual assessments of work (compliance of the various assemblies, components, labeling, designs, etc.)
- Verifying the assembly/disassembly (appearance, parallelism, play, retention, operation, etc.) and correcting minor deviations (cleaning threads, cleaning bores)
- Maintaining production tools in good condition (wrenches, torque wrenches, screw drivers, etc.)
- Communicating regularly and effectively with his/her manager, supervisor, and/or team leader
- May assist with the training of new employees
- Will be proactive in reducing the impact of or resolving problems
- Other related duties as assigned
Experience and Education:
- Able to read blueprints and work orders in English
- Able to work closely with team members in an assembly line/work cell environment and also independently
- Must be able to learn all positions within the work cell
- Must be PC literate and able to use hand-held scanner
- Must be reliable, have a strong work ethic, and good attendance
- Must have your own reliable transportation
- Must be able to lift 50 lbs. consistently without any restrictions
- Forklift experience preferred
