Job Description – Fleet Maintenance Manager
The FMM is responsible for ensuring all fleet trailers and plant equipment is serviced and maintained daily. The FMM must be able to manage a crew of 4 technicians to ensure all equipment is running properly. The FMM must promote a safe environment and make all repairs in a timely and cost-effective manner. Performing quality repairs while servicing our equipment is the goal so that we meet all government requirements and work within company rules and policies.
Responsibilities/Duties:
· Must be able to perform preventative maintenance, repairs, modifications, and inspections on trucks, boom trailers, flatbed trailers, cement tankers, forklifts, front end loaders, and other miscellaneous equipment in our plant/fleet, with a minimum of 5 years’ experience.
· Must be able to perform repairs on trailer suspensions including heavy duty brakes, drums, cams, chambers, air valves,
etc.
· Must be able to perform electronic troubleshooting and electronic component repairs.
· Must be able to maintain the allocated time frame on all repairs and modifications
· Diagnosing and making recommendations on repairs as required
· Diagnose and repair or replace mechanical, electrical, PTO’s and blowers according to established service criteria.
· Understand troubleshooting procedures and failure analysis of all components.
· Able to safely operate Class A equipment in and out of the shop.
· Able to perform the physical requirements needed to work inside, underneath and around all components that need repair.
· Must have knowledge of hydraulic cylinders, hydraulic valves, and small engine repair
· Be able to complete records, warranty documentation, and ensure records of proper maintenance to all shop equipment.
· Must be able to lead safety classes for subordinates
· Must be able to lead by example and keep all subordinate employees actively busy
· Must be able to perform minor welding as needed for shop and plant equipment
Requirements:
· Must have own personal tools
· Must have a valid CDL Class A/C drivers license (with no restrictions)
· High school diploma of GED equivalent.
· Must have at least 3-5 years of experience in DOT inspections. (preferred)
· Must have at least 5 years of experience maintaining Class A commercial vehicles or a certificate of completion in Diesel Mechanics from an accredited trade school.
· Must be able to work Monday – Friday, 1st shift 6am to 4pm, and every other Saturdays as needed (6am to 12pm)
· Bi-lingual (English/Spanish) is a plus but not required
· Must be detail oriented and have excellent organizational skills.
· A pre-employment physical and drug screening is required.
Compensation:
· $95,000 yearly
