Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate School Psychologist to join our educational team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for supporting students' mental health and educational needs through assessment, intervention, and collaboration with educators and families. This role requires a strong understanding of psychological principles as they apply to children and adolescents, along with the ability to implement effective strategies for crisis management and behavior management.
Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive psychological assessments to evaluate students' cognitive, emotional, and behavioral functioning.
- Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) in collaboration with teachers, parents, and other professionals.
- Provide psychotherapy services to students dealing with emotional or behavioral challenges.
- Manage crisis situations effectively, ensuring the safety and well-being of students.
- Collaborate with school staff to develop behavior management strategies tailored to individual student needs.
- Work with students with disabilities, providing support and advocacy as needed.
- Conduct patient assessments to identify areas of concern and recommend appropriate interventions.
- Maintain accurate records of student progress and case management documentation.
- Facilitate training sessions for teachers on mental health topics and strategies for supporting students in the classroom.
Requirements
- Master's or Doctoral degree in School Psychology or a related field.
- Valid state certification or licensure as a School Psychologist.
- Experience working with students in an educational setting is preferred.
- Strong skills in crisis management, behavior management, and patient care.
- Familiarity with IEP processes and experience working with individuals with disabilities is highly desirable.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, to effectively collaborate with students, parents, and staff.
- Ability to assess patient needs accurately and develop appropriate intervention plans.
