We are currently seeking a dedicated and experienced Exceptional Children Teacher to join our team in Hickory, NC. This is a full-time position for the entire school year, providing specialized instruction and support to exceptional students in grades K-5.
Responsibilities:
- Individualized Instruction: Develop and implement tailored educational plans for exceptional students to address their unique needs.
- Collaboration: Work closely with educational teams, support staff, and parents to create an inclusive and positive learning environment.
- Adaptability: Modify instructional methods and materials to meet the diverse needs of exceptional students.
- Progress Monitoring: Regularly assess and document student progress, adjusting teaching strategies as needed.
- Classroom Management: Establish and maintain a supportive and engaging classroom environment conducive to learning.
Qualifications:
- Education: Bachelor's or Master's degree in Special Education or a related field.
- Certification: Must hold a valid teaching certification in Exceptional Children Education.
- Experience: Previous experience working with exceptional students in elementary grades is preferred.
- Communication: Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Passion: Demonstrated passion for fostering a love of learning in exceptional students.
