BILL’s Information Security department is searching for a Security Architect with broad industry experience to guide our large initiatives in Product Security a, Enterprise Security and Identity and Access Management (IAM). You will bring a blend of technical acumen and strategic insight, capable of effectively communicating with stakeholders and guiding team members in alignment with our security culture and business priorities. You possess a strong background in Application and Infrastructure security and experience with Identity and Access Management, with working knowledge in architecting and delivering IAM solutions in an enterprise cloud based environment. Information Security is looking for a strong leader who is capable of working closely with cross-functional IT, engineering, and leadership to develop strategy, architect, and deliver solutions in a matrixed environment, maturing the Product and Enterprise security of the company.
Key Responsibilities:
- Engage with Product Security and cross functional teams to mature the Security Architecture of the Bill product ecosystem.
- Recommend and incorporate new technology/vendors to evolve the Product Security strategy.
- Contribute to maturing the overall Product Security program by constantly improving the processes and tools.
- Lead the Identity and Access Management security program including strategy, framework, architecture, process, execution, and continuous maturity
- Provide expert guidance on IAM security program strategy and and best practices including strategic and operational goals, design and architecture, solution implementation and delivery, policies and procedures, and risk mitigation.
- Perform IAM risk assessments by collaboration with cross-functional teams and Security Risk Management to understand technical implementations and assess control strength on an ongoing basis
- Provide security architecture guidance for Corporate Enterprise security initiatives.
- Communicate identified security risks and their potential impact to stakeholders, including technical and non-technical audiences.
- Develop and present detailed operational reports on the state and risks of the overall product and enterprise security program and functions. Ensure these reports are understandable to technical and non-technical stakeholders, including senior management
We’d love to chat if you have:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Security, or a related field.
- 7-10 years of experience in Security Architecture.
- Strong technical knowledge of IAM strategy, architecture, tools, controls, and functions - especially in a cloud native environment.
- Strong knowledge of Zero Trust tools in the Enterprise space.
- At least 3-5 years of experience in AWS.
- Excellent communication skills at all levels, with the ability to articulate complex technical concepts to diverse audiences, including including C-Suite
- Proven ability to work collaboratively with IT and engineering teams to design, assess and implement solutions.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with attention to detail and accuracy.
Preferred Skills:
- Experience with IAM tools and methodologies.
- Experience with a broad range of Appsec / Cloud Security / Enterprise tools
- Knowledge of cloud security best practices and technologies (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP).
- Ability to work as a strong independent leader among other ICs to deliver enterprise wide strategy and solutions
- Strong project management skills with the ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple projects simultaneously.

The estimated salary range for this role is noted below for our San Jose based role. Our ranges for each role and job level are based on a variety of factors including candidate experience, expertise, and geographic location and may vary from the amounts listed above. The role is also eligible for a competitive benefits package that includes: medical, dental, vision, life and disability insurance, 401(k) retirement plan, flexible spending & health savings account, paid holidays, paid time off, and other company benefits.
