The Role at a Glance – Bill Jacobs Motorsport General Sales Manager

Bill Jacobs Motorsport is seeking a highly motivated and experienced General Sales Manager with a strong background in used vehicle management to lead our sales department and drive profitability, customer satisfaction, and team performance. As the General Sales Manager, you will oversee day-to-day operations, set sales targets, and ensure compliance with company policies while fostering a dynamic, customer-focused sales environment.

What you'll be doing

  • Profitability & Goal Achievement: Develop and manage sales volume and gross profit goals on a daily, weekly, monthly, and annual basis. Support sales advisors in achieving personal targets by providing ongoing training and guidance.
  • Sales Process Management: Oversee the entire sales process, ensuring the CRM is utilized effectively for prospecting and follow-up. Monitor leads, internet sales, and inbound calls to ensure they are handled according to company standards.
  • Used & New Vehicle Inventory Management: Ensure optimal stocking levels for both new and used vehicles. Collaborate with the service department on loaner supply decisions and review inventory purchases regularly.
  • Customer Service Excellence: Maintain a customer-focused culture throughout the sales process. Address customer complaints promptly, ensuring compliance with dealership and manufacturer standards.
  • Team Leadership & Development: Hire, train, and motivate a high-performing sales team. Lead weekly one-on-one meetings, save-a-deal sessions, and product training to ensure sales advisors are product experts.
  • Deal Desking & Closing: Manage deal desking to maximize front and back-end profitability. Engage with customers early in the buying process and work closely with sales advisors to ensure an outstanding customer experience.
  • Compliance: Stay updated with federal, state, and local vehicle sales regulations. Ensure all staff follow key control and dealership policies. Understand manufacturer incentives and ensure proper execution.

What we’re looking for:

  • Proven experience in vehicle sales management, with an emphasis on used vehicle management.
  • Demonstrated ability to set and achieve sales targets while maintaining high standards of customer satisfaction.
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to mentor and motivate a sales team.
  • Proficient in CRM systems and sales process management.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills.
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; relevant sales experience essential.
  • Demonstrated strong work ethic, dependability, excellent written and verbal communication, exceptional customer-focus, and a positive attitude.

Must-haves:

  • Minimum 5 years of progressively responsible sales management experience in a new vehicle dealership.
  • Proven experience in vehicle sales management, emphasizing used vehicle management.
  • Ability to coach, mentor, and lead a team of Sales Managers, Business Managers, and Sales Advisors of varying levels of experience.
  • Must have strong knowledge of CDK Desking, vAuto, CRM systems, and other automotive software.
  • Self-driven and motivated to achieve results.
  • Process-driven.
  • Tech-savvy.
  • Comprehensive understanding of laws and policies for compliance.
  • Must exhibit strong customer service skills, including communicating clearly, expressing empathy, and demonstrating active listening skills.
  • Professional personal appearance.

Pay: $200,000.00 - $250,000.00 per year
