What are the responsibilities and job description for the Board Certified Behavior Analysts (BCBA) position at Billerica Public Schools?

-High School/Dutile Elementary School - Non-program students
-Dutile Elementary School - Access 2 Program (Special Education)
-Kennedy/Hajjar Elementary Schools (50/50 split)
REPORTS TO: Director of Special Education, Assistant Director of Special Education, Building Principal(s)
ESSENTIAL FUNCTION:
This position is accountable for consultation, observation, assessment, supervision, evaluations and behavior plan development to support teachers, related service professionals, building principals and paraprofessionals. The BCBA is a clinician who educates, observes, assesses and supervises the behavioral application and implementation of behaviorally based interventions within the educational environment. The BCBA must have a solid knowledge of the principles of Applied Behavior Analysis including general behavioral assessment and Ethical Standards in Behavior Analysis.
JOB DUTIES:
•Administers, conducts, evaluates and supervises the implementation of behavioral assessment measures and functional assessment measures.
•Conducts functional behavior assessments.
•Ensures appropriate behavioral data systems are implemented such that quantifiable behavioral data is collected at regular intervals to all for the continual evaluation of behavior plans and the achievement of goals and objectives.
•Provide routine consultation to school staff for interventions based on published research and designs.
•Supervise the consistent application and implementation of behavioral interventions to ensure fidelity.
•Model behavioral interventions and coaching strategies for teachers, related service providers and paraprofessionals.
•Design and maintain behavior intervention plans.
•Supervise in home ABA therapy.
•Provide parent training as recommended during school hours.
•Participate in Team meetings and participate in the eligibility process and IEP development.
•Develop individualized goals and objectives for educational needs.
•Participate, as needed, on the RtI teams at assigned schools at the Tier III level.
•In extenuating cases, BCBA may be called in for consultation, modeling, and observation through agreement with the building principal and special education administration.
•Communicate with parents/guardians to discuss student progress.
•Follow Federal and state regulations and district procedures for special education, meet timeline's and ensure a Free and Appropriate Public Education (FAPE) in the Least Restrictive Environment (LRE).
•Supervise and direct paraprofessionals.
•Performs as such duties as deemed necessary by the Director of Special Education.
Candidates must hold the appropriate BCBA MA certification
