REPORTS TO: SuperintendentSUPERVISES: Parker School EmployeesNATURE AND SCOPE OF JOB: The Billerica Public Schools and the Parker School community are actively seeking a dynamic, insightful instructional leader who is committed to student learning in a collaborative, diverse and welcoming atmosphere in which all students are valued for their inherent dignity and unique talents and abilities. The Parker Elementary School is one of five elementary schools and is home to nearly 450 students in grades K-4.QUALIFICATIONS: Hold a valid MA license in the area of Principal/Assistant Principal, PK-6Hold a masters degree in education from an accredited college or universityHave a minimum of five years of successful teaching experience at the elementary levelExperience in school leadership, such as assistant principal, instructional coach, preferredKnowledge of curriculum development, implementation and evaluation.Understanding of effective instructional practices and assessment strategiesExperience with data analysis and using data to drive school improvementFamiliarity with state and federal education regulationsProven ability to manage school operations, including budgeting, scheduling and facilitiesStrong communication and interpersonal skillsAbility to build positive relationships with students, staff, parents, and the communityStrong experience with special education and diverse student populationsEMPLOYMENT TERMS: Twelve month work yearSalary to be negotiatedJOB FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Instructional Leadership: Provide instructional leadership and support tp teachers to improve student outcomesObserve and evaluation classroom instruction, providing constructive feedback for growthLead the implementation of effective instructional strategies and best practicesAnalyze student data to identify areas for improvement and develop targeted interventionsFoster a culture of continuous improvement and professional development for staffOversee the implementation of the schools curriculumMonitor student progress and achievement through assessmentsEnsure alignment of curriculum with state standardsStudent Support: Ensure that all students have access to high-quality educationSupport the needs of diverse student populationsImplement and monitor student support services, including but not limited to MTSS, counseling, and special educationEnsure that all students feel safe, supported and valuedSchool Management & Operations: Manage school budgets, resources, and facilities effectivelyImplement district policies and develop/implement school practices and proceduresOversee student attendance, safety, and disciplineCreate and maintain a positive and safe learning environmentEnsure compliance with state and federal education regulationsStaff Supervision and Development: Hire, supervise and evaluate school staffCollaborate with with Assistant Superintendent, Coordinators, Special Education Department, and key district employees to provide professional development opportunities for teachers and staffFoster a collaborative and supportive work environmentMediate and resolve staff conflictsCommunity and Parent Engagement: Build strong relationships with parents and the communityCommunicate effectively with parents regarding student progress and school eventsFacilitate parent involvement in school activities and decision-making, when appropriateRepresent the school in community events and meetingsExecute other tasks and duties assigned by the SuperintendentThe Billerica Public School System is an equal opportunity employer in compliance with Title IX, Chapter 622 and Section 504.
