Job description
Billerud is accepting applications for Clerical Relief Positions at our Escanaba, Michigan pulp and paper mill for future job openings. We are seeking individuals who desire a career with us and have the capabilities to advance within our mill. The primary responsibility will be to provide vacation relief for our staff. The successful candidate will become a member of Teamsters Local 406 after successful completion of the probationary period. The mill is a 24/7 operation so candidates must be willing and able to work rotating shifts, nights, weekends, holidays, and overtime.
In person applications will not be accepted at Billerud. All communications will be done through email. During the process top candidates will be asked to submit an application and be sent to Michigan Job Works for testing. The final step will be the interview process.
Qualifications
Required Experience:
- Minimum age of 18
- High- School diploma or GED
- Valid driver’s license
- 2 years’ continuous work experience Ability to work rotating shifts (days, nights, weekends, holidays) 12-hour shifts. Required to work overtime as business needs dictate
Personal qualities
Required Skills:
- Computer literacy testing required
- Proficient in Microsoft Word and MS Excel
- Must have excellent organizational and planning skills
- Time Management skills and the ability to prioritize work is essential
- Must pay attention to details and be a team player
- Need to have data management skills along with problem-solving skills
- Demonstrate the ability to quickly assimilate new information
- Coordinate many activities and interact effectively with all levels of the organization
- Must have communication skills both verbal and written including confidentiality of information
- Candidate must be able to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to quick changes
- Candidate should be prepared to test for the above required skills, including testing of comprehension
- Testing will be conducted through Michigan Works.
