What are the responsibilities and job description for the Site Superintendent position at Billfinger Industrial Services?
The Site Superintendent directs and manages field operations for the project and reports directly to the Construction Site Manager on compliance with Bilfinger Industrial Services Policies and Procedures.
Duties:
- Direct and coordinate field operations for the entire project including field supervision, field personnel, equipment, materials and subcontractor activities.
- Work with project staff to develop schedule, methods, and predict performance.
- Select appropriate construction equipment and project labor supervisory personnel.
- Monitor quality control and safety programs.
- Work closely with other superintendents to ensure the job is running parallel to the planning, methods and performance developed through the project bidding and planning function.
- As part of the Project Management Team, participate and provide information for and assist in preparation of the monthly cost report's to-date and forecasted performance.
- Supervise labor in conformance with the project work rules.
- Maintain a liaison with P&G's on-site management personnel.
- Maintain a liaison with local union management.
- Participate in local union apprenticeship program.
- Support site craft leadership, including interfacing with engineering for E.I. changes and OEP deliverables.
- Manage and control project tools and equipment, including repairs, purchase and rent vs. buy analysis.
- Manage labor resources, increases/decreases/availability.
- Supervise and coordinate on-site craft safety meetings.
- Supervise the maintenance of all on-site construction equipment.
- Work with Project Planning staff to develop scope and schedule for project subcontract packages.
- Plan and schedule, after approval of the Construction Site Manager and the P&G CSPO, all craft overtime.
- Be familiar with and execute field work in accordance with the contract documents.
- Be familiar with and execute field work in accordance with applicable safety rules, regulations, and requirements.
- Be familiar with and execute field work in accordance with quality specifications, testing requirements, and applicable code requirements.
- Be familiar with and execute field work in accordance with the approved project schedule and labor estimates.
- Participate in job walks, CDS, constructability reviews to provide input to planning group, engineering group, and project team on constructability, savings, and improvement opportunities.
- Participate in audits, including CSPA and CCIP.
- As a project team member, help work toward a common goal. Promote interaction between all team members.
