Growing AND busy medical billing company, needs an EXPERIENCED MEDICAL BILLER.
PLEASE have MORE than 5 YEARS of MEDICAL BILLING experience - 5 to 10 years is preferred!
Experience working with for a billing company is helpful!!!
Position will be dealing with multiple billing systems and multiple providers.
A billing company offering billing services to the following provider types.
- Mental Health/Psychiatry Outpatient (OMHCs/ PRP / IOP)
- Individual and small mental health private practices with focuses on outpatient therapy, psychiatric services and psychological testing
Experience in these areas are very helpful:
- Mental Health Outpatient (Group and private practice)
- Substance Abuse
- OMHC
- PRP
- IP
Experience with any of the following practice management/billing program is helpful, but not required:
- Kareo/Tebra
- OfficeAlly/PracticeMate
- TherapyNotes
- TherapyAppointment
- SimplePractice
- MyClientsPlus
- SplashMD
Job Duties
- Prepare, review, and transmit claims using billing software, including electronic and paper claim processing to Medicare, Medicaid, EAPs , Workers Compensation and commercial insurance plans
- Obtain referrals and pre-authorizations as required for procedures, if and when necessary
- Check eligibility and benefit verification, when and if necessary
- Insurance payment posting
- Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Previously having worked for a medical billing company, is VERY helpful, for it is far different than working within a doctors office.
- Knowledge of HMO/PPO, Medicare, Medicaid, and other payer requirements and systems.
- Knowledge of Kareo, OfficeAlly, TherapyNotes and SimplePractice practice management systems are helpful, but not required.
- Effective communication and customer service skills for interacting with insurance payers, providers and patients to resolve issues
- Able to work independently, while also being a team player, but capable of working independently
- Problem-solving skills
- Independent thinker and able to think "outside the box"
- Knowledge of medical terminology likely to be encountered in medical claims
- Knowledge of co-insurances, deductibles, out of pockets and authorizations
Job Types: Full-time
Salary: Monthly base, plus commission (based upon knowledge and experience). monthly commission payment, which is dependent on the assigned provider's income.
