Billing & RCM Services is looking for full-time Medical Data Entry Specialist to enter health and medical information accurately and timely into a healthcare organization's digital system.
Common Responsibilities:
- Enter medical data into the computer database with high accuracy and efficiency.
- Maintaining accurate and organized medical records, including updating existing records and creating new ones.
- Ensuring the accuracy and completeness of data entered, comparing information from source documents, and verifying data against existing records.
- Using medical coding systems to classify diagnoses, procedures, and treatments for billing and statistical purposes.
- Organizing, filing, and retrieving medical records, both physical and electronic.
- Communicating with healthcare providers and staff to resolve discrepancies, obtain missing information, or clarify data.
- Analyzing data for errors, inconsistencies, or trends.
- Preparing reports and summaries based on data collected.
- May include scanning documents, photocopying, and other administrative tasks.
Skills Required:
- Fast and accurate typing skills are essential for efficient data entry. Must be able to complete daily laboratory services logs for an average of 80 to 100 patients per day.
- Knowledge of Health Insurance Eligibility Verification.
- Knowledge of ICD-10 and CPT Codes.
- Meticulous attention to detail is crucial for ensuring the accuracy of medical records.
- Proficiency in using computer systems, databases, and software programs is required.
- Familiarity with medical terminology and abbreviations is helpful for understanding and entering data correctly.
- Strong organizational skills are needed to manage and maintain medical records effectively.
- Effective communication skills are important for interacting with healthcare providers and staff.
- Ability to manage time effectively and meet deadlines.
- Ability to analyze data for errors or inconsistencies.
- Understanding and adhering to HIPAA regulations for protecting patient privacy.
