The Endoscopy Technician works under the direction of a
Registered Nurse and/or Physician and performs various duties including technical support for diagnostic and
therapeutic procedures, specimen
collection, cleaning and maintenance of equipment, assisting with patient
transport, as well as other tasks as
needed.

Knowledge, Skills and
Abilities
performing endoscopic procedures
Endoscopy equipment including, but not limited to safe handling and care of
endoscopes, maintenance of GI image capture software and OER-Pro endoscope
reprocessor.
expert clinical level and assists the physician in the performance of adult
endoscopic procedures; including both diagnostic and interventional.
competence and efficient procedure care to Endoscopy patients within policies,
procedures and standards of care across a variety of populations and complexity
of situations.
position include but are not limited to assisting the physician in endoscopic
procedures including, but not limited to EGD, colonoscopy, Peg tube placement,
foreign body removal, ERCP, and EUS. Intra procedure patient care within
Endoscopy scope of practice. High-level disinfection of all Endoscopes per
regulatory guidelines.

potential urgent or emergent life-threatening risks, initiates action to reduce
