Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct comprehensive assessments of students’ needs and strengths within the school setting.
- Develop and implement individualized intervention plans based on student goals.
- Provide individual and group counseling sessions using effective therapeutic techniques.
- Manage cases by coordinating school and community services and resources for students and families.
- Engage in crisis management to address immediate student needs.
- Collaborate with teachers, parents, and school staff to create supportive learning environments.
- Deliver behavioral interventions tailored to the unique needs of students.
- Provide specialized support for students with developmental disabilities.
- Offer child and family counseling to promote healthy relationships and effective coping strategies.
Skills and Qualifications:
- Professional Educator License (PEL) with School Social Worker Endorsement (or eligibility to obtain in Illinois).
- Proficiency in individual and group counseling techniques tailored to school-aged children.
- Strong understanding of therapy modalities relevant to diverse student populations.
- Experience in case management practices to effectively support students and families.
- Ability to perform crisis management with empathy and professionalism.
- Familiarity with behavioral therapy approaches for various mental health and behavioral issues.
- Experience working with students with developmental disabilities is preferred.
- Competency in child and family counseling practices to address familial dynamics.
- Strong clinical counseling skills, focusing on building rapport and trust with students and families.
