Purpose of the Position:
Under the supervision of the Retail Store Manager, the Retail Sales Team Member is responsible for ensuring every customer has a personal, professional, courteous visit, each time they come in or call one of our stores.
Essential Functions/Job Responsibilities:
· Ensure that each customer receives outstanding customer service by providing a customer-friendly environment, including greeting and acknowledging every customer, maintaining the highest standards, possessing solid product knowledge, and all other components of customer services.
· Interacts with customers to understand their needs and preferences and able answer questions about merchandise.
· Shows a strong sense of integrity and commitment to customer satisfaction by handling customer problems and complaints appropriately.
· Willingly answers the phone when ringing and able to take phone orders.
· Utilizes floral strategies sales methodology fully when selling to customers.
· Promote retail sales and maximize revenues. Able to suggestively sell a gift for any occasion to a walk-in customer.
· Offer purchase of finishing touch to every delivery customer.
· Offer Billy Heroman’s rewards points loyalty program card to every in-store customer.
· Accurately and efficiently complete all sales transactions.
· Maintains an acceptable sales average.
· Learn flower varieties and common green and blooming plants, including the chain of life process used at Billy Heroman’s, prices, and seasonal offerings.
· Able to speak to customers about the chain of life process used at Billy Heroman’s.
· Learn and maintain an awareness of all product information, merchandise promotions, and seasonal needs and priorities.
· Able to answer customer’s questions about merchandise.
· Learns and maintains awareness of seasonal needs and priorities.
· Ability to create beautifully designed wraps, cash and carry bouquets, package loose floral products, and plant and gift items in an attractive manner.
· Perform routine housekeeping duties, including cleaning shelves, dusting, sweeping floors, and cleaning other areas, as required working to stay productive during down/slow times.
· Ensure that cooler, plants, gourmet, and retail product levels are stocked according to established build-to guidelines.
· Maintains a clean, organized and stocked sales counter.
· Assist with floor moves, display set-up, pricing and merchandising.
· Demonstrates an overall safety awareness daily.
· Maintains a clean and tidy work area to minimize safety risks and incidents.
· Demonstrates safe work habits by following proper procedures and protocols.
· Aware of reporting process for incident/injuries. Reports all incidents, injuries and near misses.
· Any other duties as assigned.

Education, Experience and Requirements:
· High school diploma or equivalent.
· 1-5 years retail sales experience preferred.
· Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug screen.
Supervisory Responsibility:
This position has no supervisory responsibilities.

This job operates in a retail store environment.

Position Type and Expected Hours of Work:
This position is full-time and requires the ability to work flexible hours, even on last-minute notice, including evenings and weekends.
