As a proud transplant steel facility from Germany, with over 100 years of steelmaking DNA, we strive to produce high-quality engineered products that live up to the BILSTEIN name. Our facility in Bowling Green, KY is our first U.S. manufacturing operation and serves the automotive, saw, and tooling industries with tailor-made steel grades. BILSTEIN Cold Rolled Steel has doubled its revenue each year during its first three years, and we continue to plan for further expansion and growth.
Summary: In collaboration with the CEO, the Human Resources Manager will lead and manage all human resources functions within the organization. This role is critical in shaping a performance-driven, compliant, and people-focused culture. The HR Manager will oversee payroll, benefits, recruiting, onboarding, compliance, employee relations, HR systems, and reporting. This position requires a high level of integrity, confidentiality, and professionalism in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Payroll Administration
- Process bi-weekly U.S. payroll and generate related reports.
- Manage ADP time records: setup labor approvers, resolve errors.
- Setup employee access in ADP, including password resets.
- Ensure compliance with tax jurisdictions and maintain accurate records.
Healthcare & Benefits Management
- Serve as the primary contact for benefits-related matters.
- Review and approve monthly benefits invoices for accuracy.
- Oversee enrollment and life event changes with Employee Navigator.
- Respond to and resolve employee benefits inquiries and issues.
- Coordinate and support short and long-term disability leaves.
Talent Acquisition, Onboarding & Offboarding
- Lead recruitment efforts, including interviewing and hiring for all positions.
- Issue onboarding tickets and coordinate with IT and Facilities for new hires.
- Assign badge access, order uniforms, and provide new hire orientation.
- Assist new team members with ADP enrollment and safety equipment issuance.
- Manage the offboarding process including final payroll, equipment collection, and termination in systems.
- Issue offboarding tickets.
Employee Relations & Engagement
- Act as the main HR point of contact for employee inquiries regarding ADP.
- Plan and coordinate team member events, engagement activities, and celebrations.
- Maintain employee milestone records such as birthdays and work anniversaries.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS Continued
401(k) Plan Administration
- Manage employee contribution changes and updates in ADP.
- Upload bi-weekly contribution files to Empower.
- Assist with the annual compliance audit for the 401(k) plan.
Administrative Operations
- Distribute incoming mail and manage kitchen and breakroom supplies.
- Maintain inventory of company swag and personal protective equipment (PPE).
Compliance & Policy Management
- Ensure ongoing compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations.
- Investigate sensitive employee matters with discretion and professionalism.
- Develop and deliver internal HR training programs.
- Stay current on HR industry trends, best practices, and legal changes.
Reporting & HR Metrics
- Generate regular headcount reports and analyze workforce trends.
- Track and report key HR performance indicators, such as turnover and overtime.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
Education & Certification
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field required.
- SHRM-CP or SHRM-SCP certification highly preferred.
Experience
- Minimum of 5 years of progressive HR management experience, preferably in a manufacturing or industrial setting.
- Proven experience managing payroll, benefits, compliance, and employee relations.
- Hands-on experience with ADP, Employee Navigator, and benefits administration platforms.
Skills & Competencies
- Strong knowledge of federal, state, and local employment laws and HR best practices.
- Excellent interpersonal, communication, and conflict resolution skills.
