Title: Production Assistant - Framing

Reports To: Production Management

Location: Greenwood, SC

Purpose:
Responsible for assisting in the framing work to ensure it meets BiltWise’s quality standards in the production of modular homes. This includes supporting the installation, alignment, and assembly of structural framing components. The role ensures that all framing is precise, structurally sound, and compliant with regulations before homes move to the next phase of production.

• BiltWise homes leave the framing stage with structurally sound and code-compliant frames, providing a strong foundation for the next phases of production.
• Framing work is completed efficiently, contributing to the overall quality, safety, and craftsmanship of our homes.

Essential Functions:

• Assist in the installation and assembly of framing components, including walls, floors, and roofs, according to project blueprints and specifications.
• Measure, cut, and prepare materials such as lumber and plywood for framing installation.
• Support the use of hand and power tools to align, secure, and fasten framing components.
• Help ensure all framing work meets structural and safety standards, addressing any issues under the direction of the Framing Lead.
• Collaborate with other departments to ensure timely completion of framing in line with project timelines.
• Maintain a clean and organized workspace, promoting safety and efficiency on the production floor.
• Ensure compliance with safety protocols, wearing appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) and following company safety guidelines.

Required Skills & Abilities:

• Basic understanding of framing techniques, materials, and tools.
• Skilled in the use of hand and power tools such as saws, drills, and hammers.
• Ability to read and follow blueprints, technical drawings, and framing layouts.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills to assist the framing team effectively.
• Problem-solving abilities to address minor framing issues or adjustments.
• Physical stamina for lifting materials, working at heights, and performing tasks that involve standing, bending, and kneeling.

• Physical Activity

• Ability to stand, walk, and move for extended periods of time.
• Frequent sitting, standing, bending, or kneeling.
• Ability to lift, push, or pull up to 75 pounds
• Repetitive motions (e.g., typing, assembling, lifting).

• Manual Dexterity

• Ability to use hands and arms for fine manipulation (e.g., operating tools, handling materials).
• Hand-eye coordination for precision tasks.

• Mobility

• Ability to climb stairs or ladders.
• Ability to work in confined or elevated spaces (if applicable).

• Visual and Hearing Requirements

• Clear vision (e.g., close-up work, long-distance observation).
• Ability to distinguish colors (if necessary for safety or precision work).
• Adequate hearing to detect alarms or verbal instructions in a noisy environment.

• Environmental Conditions

• Ability to work in varying conditions (e.g., exposure to extreme temperatures, outdoor environments, or noisy spaces).
• Tolerance to potential exposure to chemicals, fumes, dust, or hazardous materials (if applicable).

• Endurance

• Ability to maintain physical activity for long periods, often under strenuous conditions.
• Capacity to respond to emergency situations (e.g., physical agility for quick movements)
