What are the responsibilities and job description for the Asset Coordinator Transportation position at Bimbo QSR Chicago LLC?
Position Summary:
Support the coordination of the end-to-end processes of all Transportation Department physical assets to include tractors and trailers, yard trucks, flour tankers, and associated support equipment. Support and coordinate the placement, maintenance, and repair of all Bimbo QSR owned equipment. Assist in the maintaining of U.S. Department of Transportation standards of reporting and recording, ensuring compliance with the same; Work in concert with all Bimbo QSR Ohio (BQ OH) Transportation Department personnel. Provide liaison to BQ Ohio Shipping and Production personnel for daily equipment needs and requirements. To provide extended hours of coverage of equipment maintenance and repair.
Key Job Responsibilities:
- Responsible for all assets/equipment owned and operated by BQSR for their respective geography.
- Coordinate all activities with regard to the maintenance and repair process from end-to-end.
- Develop and maintain a Fleet Maintenance and Standardization Program.
- Liaison with BQ Drivers, contract and non-contract service providers for all maintenance and repair issues.
- Liaison with the BQ Transportation Analyst for billing, invoicing, and tracking of all maintenance and repair items.
- Provide liaison with the BQ Transportation personnel on the planning, execution, and improvements relating to the applicable fleet.
- Coordinate/execute as required the maintenance and support electronic logging devices (ELD) equipment and Hand-held devices/electronic data interfaces.
- Assist the Transportation Safety Manager in the installation of all (ELD) devices.
- Maintain accurate and up to date records and reporting pertaining to the above.
- Track equipment unit information as well as DOT NY HUT and any other registrations needed.
Physical Requirements:
- Must be able to sit, stand, walk, bend, stoop, push and pull objects over 75 lbs.
- Must be able to climb, reach, grasp, lift; Able to function in a cold storage environment.
Schedule/Work Site Requirements:
- This position requires on site work at our 2 Ohio Bakery locations in Zanesville, OH
- M-F 8-5 PM with occasional weekend and on call work

Education and Work History:
High School Diploma/GED or equivalent and must have Class A CDL. A combination of education, training and experience that results in demonstrated competency to perform the work may be substituted.
- Class A CDL required.
- Two (2) or more years of experience in Logistics and Distribution Operations.
- Knowledge of equipment scheduling and fleet maintenance management.
- Knowledge of dispatch procedures, federal transportation regulations, transportation operation and delivery scheduling.
- Experience in truck routing software is desired.
- Previous experience operating hand-held device delivery methods.
- Must have excellent customer service skills/verbal and written communication skills. Good English communication skills (both written and oral).
- Communicate and coordinate effectively with internal and external customers and supporting organizations verbally and in writing.
- Should be knowledgeable in FMCSR, CSA and other DOT requirements to ensure compliance.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, etc.; Demonstrate a willingness to learn improved skills.
- Possess the demonstrated technical skills to manage OBC and Hand-held ELD equipment.
- Must possess the highest possible standard of ethics and conduct.
- Demonstrate good organizational, multi-tasking, and time management skills, able to meet deadlines.
- Take initiative and be self-motivated, always looking for opportunities to improve.
Travel Requirements:
- Up to 10% travel outside area-Supporting Valdosta, GA and Denver, CO Operations.
