Position Summary:
Quality Technician is responsible to ensure all quality control processes are in place and actively documented and utilized. They ensure these quality processes occur properly throughout the production line including external areas affecting production. The QA Tech will need to have basic knowledge of HACCP/HARPC, Preventative Controls and Food Safety within a food manufacturing facility.
Key Job Responsibilities:
- Responsible for collecting quality data and running analysis of the product.
- Monitor overall on-line quality and food safety systems of the bakery including all Critical Control Points (CCP) as per HACCP plan.
- Select products for tests at specified stages in production process, and test for a variety of qualities such as dimension, color, irregularities to ensure product meets specifications
- Ensure proper critical control points and quality meet specifications
- Assist in preparations of all 3rd party audits including AIB GMP, Regulatory, Customer (SQMS), GFSI certification assessments, etc.
- Train personnel on GMP, HACCP, Allergen control and all other pertinent Quality systems for new hires or if practices are not followed
- Monitor production, raw materials and finished product for Safety or Quality deviations and report non-conformances to superior.
- Monitor and check raw materials received against product specification and release product if attributes are within specification.
- Communicates with appropriate management team member to address quality issues/concerns
- Other duties as assigned

Education and Work History:
- Two-year certificate from college or technical school; or six to 12 months related experience and/or training (with a HS diploma or equivalent); or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- 1-2 years of relevant work experience in food production industry, with an understanding of Food Safety & Quality Management and Food regulations.
- Training/Other Knowledge of GMP, HACCP, Food Safety, SOP, Pest control and Bakery operation.
- Ability to clearly communicate (Written and Verbal) in English.
Physical Requirements:
- Able to stand for up to 8-10 hours while working with and around machinery.
- Ability to work in a bakery environment for extended periods of time (able to work in loud, high temperature/high humidity environment)
- Able to work some weekends, different shifts and possibly some public holidays in a bakery environment.
