JOB DESCRIPTION: Palletizer/Forklift Operator
1st, 2nd and 3rd shift positions available
SUMMARY: Performs a variety of jobs tasks within the Bakery department. Including to, but not limited
to, operation of stackers, palletizer, and wrapper, label applicator, bridge, freezer vestibule. Responsible
for management of all products in each tray and pillows count. and other utility functions, as assigned.
Will perform tasks to assist Department Managers and give guidance to Associates.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES (other duties may be assigned):
♦ Assist with clearing and maintaining any jams at the automatic tray stackers.
♦ Clear and reset any faults on the palletizer.
♦ Operate a standup forklift..
♦ Inspect pallets for proper integrity.
♦ Load palletizer with pallets.
♦ Ensure that all pallets with product have a pallet number.
♦ Ensure that all pallets with product have the corresponding color tape that mark the day of
production.
♦ Ensure that all pallets with product are placed in the proper lanes in the freezer.
♦ Responsible for completion & maintain all partial pallets for end of product runs.
♦ Responsible for assurance that all trays on a pallet have proper quantities of
pillows/packages.
♦ Pull pallets safely from the freezer racks and load the product on to trailers correctly, efficiently with no damage.
♦ Sweep up any debris on the east & north side of the freezer.
♦ Sweep up any debris in the freezer & freezer vestibule.
♦ Report damages to any equipment or company property to the on shift supervisor. Other
duties assigned as business necessitates.
QUALIFICATIONS: MUST be able to learn how operate a stand up forklift safely. Experience preferred. Must be willing to learn how to operate a yard truck and jockey the trailers to the dock for loading and unloading. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or

LANGUAGE SKILLS: Ability to read and write in ENGLISH routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak
effectively with all levels of the organization. Ability to maintain a professional relationship in phone,
email, and written correspondence with individuals within and outside of the company.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS: Ability to calculate figures with the use of calculator and spreadsheet;
calculation by touch is preferred.
REASONING ABILITY: Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished
in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in
standardized situations. Ability to anticipate challenges such as problems in achieving deadlines early
enough to report to management with resolution to issues.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS: The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be

♦ Able to stand for up to 12 hours, while working with and around machinery.
♦ Able to work in temperatures from 90 to 110 degrees Fahrenheit and humidity levels as high as
98%.

areas.
♦ Walk up and down stairs (6-20) steps two to ten times per shift.
♦ Walk from 15 to 100 feet two to ten times per shift.
♦ Able to lift 60 pounds once an hour and 10 to 50 pounds repeatedly.
♦ Able to push and/or pull wheeled troughs of 100-500 lbs repeatedly.
