AZURE Cloud Security Engineer - Need someone who worked on AZURE .
The client is looking for someone who is within a 2 to 4-hour drive of Omaha, NE. This is a REMOTE role.
As a Senior Cloud Security Engineer, you will be responsible for designing, implementing, and managing security measures to protect our Azure Cloud environments. You will work closely with various teams to ensure the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of our cloud-based assets. Your expertise will be crucial in safeguarding our data and applications from potential threats. We are looking for an innovative thought leader who can drive our cloud security strategy forward.
Key Responsibilities:
Security Architecture and Design:
- Develop and maintain security architecture for Azure Cloud environments.
- Design and implement security controls and policies to protect cloud infrastructure.
- Ensure compliance with industry standards and regulatory requirements such as NIST and HIPAA.
- Innovate and lead the development of cutting-edge security solutions.
Access Management:
- Understand and manage access management in the cloud as it relates to Microsoft Entra ID.
- Collaborate with teams to ensure proper identity and access management practices are followed.
Data Protection:
- Implement robust encryption methods to ensure data confidentiality both at rest and in transit.
- Develop strategies for secure data storage and access control.
- Ensure data integrity through regular audits and monitoring.
- Establish protocols for data recovery and backup to maintain availability in case of incidents.
- Promote best practices for data handling and protection across the organization.
Threat Detection and Incident Response:
- Lead threat detection and incident response efforts.
- Oversee the deployment and management of tools like CrowdStrike EDR.
- Coordinate with teams to monitor and respond to security incidents and vulnerabilities.
- Explore and integrate other technologies such as Palo Alto Prisma Cloud, CrowdStrike Falcon, and Splunk Enterprise Security.
Network Security:
- Configure Azure Firewall and Network Security Groups (NSGs) to protect network resources.
- Implement Azure DDoS Protection to safeguard against distributed denial-of-service attacks.
- Manage Azure Web Application Firewall (WAF) to protect web applications.
Compliance and Risk Management:
- Conduct regular security assessments and audits.
- Develop and oversee programmatic standards.
- Work with external auditors to ensure compliance with SOC2, NIST, FEP, MAR, and OIG.
- Develop and maintain security documentation and reports.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Security, or related field.
- 5 years of experience in cloud security, with a focus on Azure.
- Strong understanding of Azure security services and technologies.
- Experience with security frameworks such as NIST, ISO 27001, and CIS.
- Proficiency in query languages such as KQL.
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills.
- Innovative and thinking outside of the box attitude.
Preferred Certifications:
- Intermediate Industry Recognized Certificate such as: Microsoft Certified: Azure Security Engineer Associate (AZ-500), Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP), etc.
