Description:
The IT Support Specialist is responsible for all IT-relevant issues at our new production site in Enfield, NC. This role acts primarily as a point of contact for employees in all IT-related topics, for example support for hardware, software and network connectivity. In addition, the future IT Support Specialist also will act as the primary communication liaison between the production site and our headquarters to provide the necessary technical support, ensure trouble-free IT operations and implement innovations in the field of IT.
Main Responsibilities:
- Comprehensive professional support for employees in 1st and 2nd level support throughout analyzing and efficient tackling of incoming soft-/ and hardware requests as well as maintaining contact with users for status updates
- Provide minor systems administration support such as user ID creation/removal, computer operations duties, and standard system security modifications as approved
- Proactively monitor system performance, alerts and resolve as appropriate
- Accurately classify and update the Service Desk knowledgebase (Wiki)
- Structured planning and successful implementation of IT applications in cooperation with local management and corporate IT
- Installation and configuration of software or plugins to client server/workstation
- Installation, modification and repair of IT equipment like (label-)printers, hand scanners, mobiles etc.
- Assure a smooth IT operation and resolve performance issues, with the aim to optimize our efficiency onsite
- Other duties as assigned.
Job Qualifications:
- Computer Science / IT relevant associate's / bachelor's degree or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience which provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities
- At least 3 years of experience in the field of IT support in a multi-site, WANconnected enterprise
- Solid and profound knowledge of Microsoft products including Windows OS 7/10/11, Active Directory and Office 2016, 365
- Professional experience with TCP / IP, LAN, WIFI (network diagnostic and troubleshooting applications)
- Experience with smartphones / cellular phones
- Communicative & analytic personality with independent, structured working style, and high flexibility
- Knowledge of the ERP environment and German language skills are an additional plus
Physical Demands:
- Must be able to stand and walk for extended periods of time; must be able to sit, stand, push/pull, stoop, kneel, crouch, reach, or crawl occasionally.
- Frequent lifting/moving of items that may range in weight up to 50 pounds.
- Regularly exposed to work near moving mechanical parts.
- Exposed to hot, cold, wet or humid conditions.
