Job description
The Log Sorting Operator reports to the Log Sorting Senior Operator. Responsibilities include but not limited to; following all safety and work procedures; loading and unloading materials in a safe and efficient manner using heavy machinery; assisting in loading the saw line infeed if production deems it necessary; clean industrial equipment and work stations; perform daily inspections of lift trucks and complete required forms; and other duties assigned.
Main Responsibilities :
- Follow safety and work procedures.
- Load and unload materials in a safe and efficient manner using heavy machinery
- Infeed – using the 988k Caterpillar to unload log trucks and stage material on the infeed deck or storage area
- Outfeed – using the Liebherr & Volvo High Lift unload logs from a variety of sorted bins into their corresponding inventory location
- Assisting in loading the saw line infeed if production deems in necessary.
- Clean industrial equipment and work stations
- Perform daily inspections of lift trucks and complete required forms
- Other duties as assigned.
