Job Title: VP Director, Business Solutions
Location: 75 Varick St NYC, NY 10013 (1-2 days onsite)
Duration: 6 Months Contract on W-2 (Without any benefits)
Responsibilities
- The role of the VP, Director, Business Solutions (ENT) is to guide the Business Solutions team in delivering industry-leading service in all key areas, including marketing, consumer and channel insights, full-funnel channel planning, buy implementation and analysis, and account stewardship.
- The VP, Director, Business Solutions will use their knowledge of traditional and emerging media platforms and strategies to ensure a comprehensive marketing approach to plan development.
- They will ensure best practices are developed and implemented across all areas, with a keen eye toward entertainment nuances.
- They will build and maintain relationships based on trust across all appropriate client levels, media partners, and between agency departments.
- They oversee the professional growth of the team through balanced project management, and the effective use of HMI tools and resources.
- The VP, Director, Business Solutions will also serve an advocate for the agency and their clients’ brands within the industry.
- Maintain positive rapport and champion trust with the client
- Anticipate client requests, guide team in troubleshooting and problem solving with internal resources to proactively provide solutions.
- Act as client’s “go-to”, having a voice in meetings and providing POVs.
- Act as extension of client team, and emphasizing that sentiment throughout internal team.
- Think cohesively about the intersection of paid media and owned efforts.
- Manage client expectations around timelines and deliverables, adjusting and reprioritizing as needed.
- Tap into Horizon resources/tools and collaborate with partner agencies to offer clients holistic business solutions.
- Understand when to elevate situations to executive leadership
- Guide the team in translating client goals into full funnel strategic media solutions that grow our client’s brands and ensure strategic consistency across all elements of plan development and implementation, ensuring a fully integrated approach that includes paid channels along with other marketing/media levers
- Collaborate with SVP on strategic media approach, leading the translation of business goals to marketing/media objectives to KPI’s and thus guiding all internal stakeholders accordingly
- Fully understand and be immersed in the Entertainment category to identify opportunities, challenges, barriers, etc.
- Develop comms goals -- alongside analytics or other strategic resources where needed -- based on historical performance, audiences & KPI’s
- Solid understanding of all of Horizon’s planning tools and how to use and apply them. Must be able to talk about each and know how to use them and apply to the planning process
- Demonstrate understanding of data-driven marketing and how it is used for target audience development, media planning, activation, and measurement
- Demonstrate cross-channel expertise (including O&O) and the ability to communicate roles of media in meeting client objectives. Develop roles of channels, tactics and investment guidance across all channels.
- Work with analytics team to develop test & learn, learning agendas and measurement plans
- Act as escalation point for junior team members as they work through optimization strategies, proactively communicating challenges and opportunities. Ensure team is monitoring campaigns as expected to drive flawless activation and strong performance.
- Encouraging junior team members to draw thoughtful, data-based conclusions that illustrates the ‘why’ behind performance, and maps back to strategy
- Lead client meetings and presentations, act as senior-level line of defense for clients
- Understand the terms of the client contract/MSA and ensure the agency is aware of and operating under the contractual terms.
- Manage professional team growth by instilling media principles, administering performance reviews, and guiding development of deliverables
- Develop internal and external processes and cadence for streamlined and timely workflow
- With leadership and support from senior leaders, manage the day-to-day operations of the Brand-Digital Integrated Strategy team to ensure consistent and high-quality client deliverables
- Ensure team knows and can use all of Horizon’s planning tools and where they fit into our process
- Guide the team in problem solving as well as creative application of resources (including, but not limited to, Horizon tools, syndicated tools, industry research) to address client challenges.
- Always probe if there is a better and more efficient way.
- Provide ongoing, real-time, performance feedback to ensure continued team growth
- Guide team in setting goals and professional development timelines, ensure team members have challenging, level-appropriate projects and opportunities to learn new skills
- Proactively take part in continued learning opportunities internally and externally
- Maintain active knowledge of industry trends, attending relevant industry conferences and events
- Uses this knowledge to influence and innovate for clients & internal teams

Minimum Qualifications
- Minimum 10 years of experience developing strategic media recommendations
- Strong Leadership skills and experience developing a team of media professionals
- Experience in a client relationship management role
- Familiar with marketing principles and problem solving and analytics
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Word)
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Strong presentation skills
