What are the responsibilities and job description for the Mammogram Technologist - Radiology position at Bingham Memorial Hospital?
JOB REQUIREMENTS
Required Licenses / Certifications: Current certification by American Registry of Radiologic Technologist (ARRT) for Registered Technologist (R.T) or registry eligible with certification by the ARRT pending. Mammography (M) registered preferred or must obtain within one year of hire. Basic Life Support (BLS) required.
Required Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities: Focus and attention to high quality patient care and compassion. Can work independently and can collaborate well with others. The ability to multi-task and be adaptable to workflow processes. Conducts in a professional manner will ensuring the success of the Mammography department.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Knowledge and ability to perform screening and diagnostic mammogram procedures. Prepare patients for procedures as well as provide instructions to obtain desired results while reducing patient anxiety. Produce quality images while practicing radiation and physical safety measures. Able to determine most suitable positions for exams while considering patients abilities and physical condition. Assists Radiologist with procedures as needed. Familiar with procedure processes and supplies needed as requested by Radiologist. Collect and processes patient questionnaire and all required data pertaining to the exam. Provides quality control measures and performs all required QA testing in compliance with MQSA, ACR and State requirements/regulations.
Familiar with and able to performs general radiography exams as needed. Compliant with HIPPA policies.
