Job Title: Electric Melt Specialist

Job Summary: Bingham & Taylor is seeking a skilled Electric Melt Specialist to join our dynamic team. The successful candidate will be responsible for the overall operation of two 4MT induction furnaces. All duties will be performed within safety, quality, and production standards. Fluency in English is required for this position, as effective communication is essential for successful job performance.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee set up and operation of charging the furnaces.
- Perform quality testing to assure performance within set specifications.
- Perform tapping the furnace into designated ladles.
- Monitor temperatures and chemistry, as well as monitoring the condition of the furnace.
- Responsible for transportation of molten grey iron by use of a transfer ladle.
- Responsible for relines, cold starts or sinters on weekends, as needed.
- Responsible for breakouts.
- Perform repairs to ladles/furnaces, as needed.
- Responsible for weekend repair work as needed.
- Responsible for slagging the furnace, taking chemistry samples from the furnace, taking temperature readings, upkeep on the furnace condition, and adding any trim additions necessary for the chemistry of the iron.
- Responsible for loading charge cars by utilizing scrap yard crane.
- Maintains housekeeping and 6s daily.
- Examine work instructions, relevant training materials, and other pertinent documentation.
- Engage as necessary in investigations, continuous improvement initiatives, and various project committees.
Qualifications:
- Must possess a High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Prior melting experience preferred, but will train the right candidate.
- Prior manufacturing, warehousing or industrial experience preferred.
- Demonstrated stable work history preferred.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively within a team environment.
- Detail-oriented with a commitment to quality and safety.
Physical Requirements: This position may require frequent bending, lifting, and moving objects weighing up to 50 pounds. Employees should be able to perform this duty with or without reasonable accommodations.
