Job Overview
We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Project Manager to lead and oversee various projects within our organization. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills, a keen understanding of project management methodologies, and the ability to drive projects from inception to completion. This role requires excellent communication skills, a strategic mindset, and the ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams to achieve project goals.
Responsibilities
- Read and understand plans and specifications.
- Perform quantity takeoffs
- Perform solicitations to Vendors and Subcontractors.
- Work on project site to observe progression.
- Able to generate change orders for the project using estimating software.
- Transfer of information from estimating software to project management software.
- Communicate roll out of projects with Superintendent, Accounting Staff and field personnel.
- Perform safety requirements and ensure that risks are mitigated.
- Obtain submittals as required for construction of project.
- Attend Progress and Scheduling Meetings.
- Review and analyze job cost information and verify accurate and complete, address and or correct as necessary.
- Communicate with Owner and Superintendent on a regular basis to ensure project issues and concerns are addressed.
- Generate billing quantities from information provided by field personnel and contractual requirements.
- Provide clear step-by-step directions and answer questions while organizing the project.
- Able to work and assist others to work in a safe manner within the guidelines of the companies policies.
- Willingness to work nights and weekends if required.
- Other duties as required.
Requirements
- Previous heavy heavy highway construction/alternative delivery experience (preferred)
- Project Management experience (preferred)
- Strong time management skills with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
- Knowledgeable in and proven abilities with estimating in heavy highway construction type environment
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
- Must have ability to interact with external and internal customers and partners in a fast pace, multitasking environment, working independently with a high degree of problem solving
- Demonstrated leadership abilities with a focus on team collaboration and motivation.
- Proficiency in use of Excel, Word and experience with an estimating package helpful
