Binghamton University's Teaching, Learning, and Educational Leadership (TLEL) department, housed within the College of Community of Public Affairs (CCPA), seeks a 10-month, tenure track assistant or associate professor of special education to work with students pursuing degrees in special education, to begin in Fall 2025. Current faculty research interests include effective teacher preparation, interventions for academics, discipline and behavior, special education policy and advocacy, and workforce issues. There are also opportunities for mentoring doctoral students from our highly interdisciplinary graduate programs.
This faculty member's primary affiliation would be within the Master of Education in Special Education program, a program for students seeking a master's degree and NYS initial and professional teaching certification in grades pre-K-12. Successful candidates can be expected to teach both in-person and online classes.

Requirements / Qualifications :
- Earned doctoral degree or anticipate having doctoral degree conferred by July 1st, 2025 in special education or closely related field from an accredited college or university.
- Demonstrated strong potential for developing an independent research program in special education, including potential for writing grants and obtaining external funding.
- Commitment to supporting diversity, equity, access, and inclusion within the campus community and in schools
- Minimum of three years PK-12 classroom teaching experience in special education or general education classrooms serving students with disabilities.
