Budget Title : Senior Staff Assistant (SL-3)
Salary : $56,000-$60,000
Within the Division of Student Affairs, the B Healthy : Healthy Campus Initiative is seeking a Health Promotion Coordinator to contribute to a culture and environment of health and well-being that is supportive of individuals and groups in pursuit of their optimal potential. Therefore, we strive to collaborate with students as well as on and off campus partners, around the dimensions of wellness, by supporting programs and services using evidence-informed practices targeting the diverse needs of the Binghamton University community. The Health Promotion Coordinator will assist in the development, implementation, coordination and evaluation of health promotion initiatives. This position will support the Healthy Campus Initiative with a primary focus on sexual and reproductive health and general wellness.
Duties / Responsibilities :
- Facilitate the implementation of the Healthy Campus Peer Internship
- Hire, train, manage, supervise, and evaluate paid and / or volunteer student staff, interns, and graduate assistants
- Plan, implement, and evaluate theory-based and evidence-informed health promotion strategies, policies, programs, and services
- Develop strategic plans, goals, and measurable objectives for health promotion programs and services
- Collaborate with key stakeholders on and off campus to develop a comprehensive, multidisciplinary approach to health for students, faculty and staff
- Incorporate multicultural, diversity and social justice concepts and principles into health promotion programs and services
- Maintain expertise in current and relevant health and wellness trends in order to be a reliable source of information for campus community
- Assist in the research of various health promotion resources as well as the maintenance of these resources, including written, visual / video media and manage social media platforms
- Actively participate on various campus and / or community committees that are relevant to the university's mission
- Availability to work evenings and weekends, as needed
Success in the role will require a highly collaborative and creative individual. The ideal candidates will have experience implementing best practices in public health, health promotion, and / or health communication, and proven ability to develop and evaluate programs and initiatives.
