The Environmental Studies Program at Binghamton University, State University of New York invites applications for a full-time lecturer position in environmental studies or science beginning in Fall 2025 for an appointment of up to three years, with the possibility of renewal.
We seek a scholar who can teach students about the challenges of the human-nature interface. Our preferred instructor will have a background in coupled human and natural systems, a central focus of Environmental Studies Program. Our new colleague will be able to teach introductory environmental science / studies courses, upper-level courses in their area of expertise, and project-based capstone classes. This is a teaching focused position with a load of three courses per semester.
The Environmental Studies Program places high value on practice-based instructional methods, which take a wide variety of forms including but not exclusive to labs and field-based research, project-driven classes, course-based research experiences, and community-engaged learning. We also value experimental or innovative instructional methods.

Additionally, environmental studies students and faculty regularly engage regional, national, and international non-profit organizations, governments, and businesses in roles as researchers, consultants, and interns.
Requirements : Required :
- Ph.D. in environmental science, or related field, required by August 18, 2025
- Experience teaching undergraduate courses in environmental studies or science
