Our team has a need for a Project Surveyor to join their team. In this position, your duties will include supporting the team's development and management, processing field survey data files for various survey projects, and assisting the survey team in conducting various survey types using the latest software, equipment and surveying technologies.

What you will do :

  • Know the principles of performing surveys such as digital leveling, field data reduction, preparing ALTA / NSPS Land Title Surveys, metes and bounds descriptions, topographic surveys, construction surveys, horizontal control surveys, design surveys, and as-built surveys.
  • Be familiar with requirements of global positioning systems (GPS) and geographic / land information systems (GIS). Lidar and orthomosaic imagery is a plus.
  • Know how to perform and support record research, abstracting, preliminary boundary determinations, closure reports, field data processing, digital terrain modeling, and preparation of final survey deliverables for review by a Registered Professional Land Surveyor (RPLS).
  • Have knowledge and understanding of plan reading.
  • Ensure Right-of-Entry is being tracked and logged.
  • Create abstract maps / working drawings from deeds, plats, easements and other documents.
  • Have knowledge of and familiarization with survey applications of computer aided drafting (CAD).
  • Coordinate with Clients
  • Be involved in final QA / QC reviews.

You are a strong relationship builder which extends to team members, other leaders, existing clients, and the development of new business. You are a strong support manager with a keen eye for quality assurance and quality control. You possess the financial acumen to contribute to the profitability of projects. Your technical competency enables you to not only be understand known technology and able to adapt to a changing technological environment.

What you bring :

  • Texas Registered Professional Land Surveyor (RPLS) or Surveyor-In Training (SIT)
  • Experience in Business Development to assist in managing projects
  • Experience using field-to-finish survey routines, processing raw field data, creating detailed survey deliverables, including various categories of TSPS surveys, ALTA / NSPS surveys, right-of-way maps, metes and bounds descriptions and other survey deliverables.
  • Must be efficient using AutoCAD and Civil3d. Experience using MicroStation, GeoPAK, Open Roads Designer will be a plus.
  • Proficient with Standards / Code lists and survey requirements.
  • Minimum of 3 years' experience working as a Survey Technician on Land Survey Projects.
  • Highly efficient and careful when processing field data through Leica Geo Office, Infinity, and other software.
  • Checks own work prior to reviewing it with Project Managers.
  • Strong communication and organizational skills with an attention to detail.
  • Strong computer skills.
  • Project management skills.
  • Ability to contribute and work well on a team
