What are the responsibilities and job description for the Assembler position at Binks US LLC?
Purpose:
On-time assembly of components and finished products according to all applicable specifications and requirements per prints, bill-of-material, work instructions, etc. Conduct testing of products according to test specifications. Operate machinery to prepare, wash, and/or assemble parts. Maintain finished goods levels for cell per Kan Ban process.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Working from prints, bills of material, work instructions and/or drawings to build and test a variety of products.
- Build, test and ensure product assembled meets its quality requirements.
- Maintain component parts’ stocking levels per Kan Ban, reorder point, etc. processes.
- Operate machinery to prepare, wash, and/or assemble parts.
- Assist Cell Lead as necessary. Work as backup in other cells.
- Achieve production standards established by Management.
- Maintain ISO documents and drawings.
- Maintain a clean work environment using 5S methods.
- Maintain positive working relationships with coworkers.
- Attend company and department meetings as requested.
- Comply with company’s business and human resources policies, work rules, safety policies, OSHA and TOSHA requirements, quality standards, standard operating procedures, and applicable local, State, and Federal regulations.
- Perform other related responsibilities as needed and assigned.
Qualifications:
- High School diploma or GED or a combination of education and one to three years of mechanical/pneumatic assembly experience.
- Must be able to read and understand/interpret prints and bills of material with minimal assistance.
- Must be able to use hand and power tools to accomplish required assemblies.
- Ability to spatially visualize how parts, components and sub-assemblies come together resulting in the quality assembly.
- Must be able to use various gauges and measuring devices; and have ability to identify non-conforming parts.
- Must be able to add, subtract, multiply, and divide and use these skills to solve problems.
- Must be able to understand and follow verbal and written instructions, complete forms with accurate information.
- Must be able to properly identify, count, and maintain required inventory.
- Must be able to work as a cooperative and contributing member of the Team. For example, voluntarily or per supervisor request, helping team members when own work is complete.
- Must be able to operate equipment to move parts, materials, etc.
- Ability to work OT as required based on customer demand and needs.
- Must have basic reading, writing, and computer skills and familiarity.
