What are the responsibilities and job description for the CNC Machining Operator III position at Binks US LLC?
- Set up, operate and troubleshoot CNC Machines to achieve first article.
- Read and interpret schematics, blueprints, and work instructions or MIPs proficiently.
- Properly and safely load and unload parts and raw material in CNC Machinery.
- Perform necessary side operations during machine cycle time as required (i.e., deburring, etc.)
- Perform daily and regular cleaning and light maintenance task on CNC Machinery.
- Meet production goals in terms of cycle time, quantity, and quality.
- Palletize material coming to machine from preceding operation, as required.
- Maintain appropriate Kanban records, levels, etc.
- Remove chips and shavings as needed.
- Solve minor problems and recognize bigger problems that require supervisor/manager assistance.
- Verify and record quality assurance measurements and document defects.
- Maintain and improve 5S standards in the cell.
- Comply with company policies, ISO standards, and applicable laws and legislation.
- Work towards SQDC target metrics.
- Support manufacturing engineers as directed in daily production, projects, and special assignments.
- Maintain tooling while operating machines.
- Determine specifications for inspection of work using precision measuring and gaging tools, performing required inspection before, during, and after machining.
- Change tooling and/or tooling holders to maintain machine settings to produce a quality product throughout production.
- Operate other equipment as required, both NC controlled and manual (if applicable).
- Considered to be process expert and trainer.
- Work directly with programmer and engineers in planning and execution of insourcing projects.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements:
- High school diploma, GED, Technical School certificate, or related work experience required.
- Three (3) to five (5) years prior successful experience operating CNC Machines.
- Must have extensive experience with one or more of the following CNC machines: Hass, Hardinge, Tsugami Swiss.
- Ability to prioritize work and work with minimal supervision.
- Must be able to read, write, and perform simple to moderate mathematical calculations.
- Skill and ability to operate machines precisely with high degree of attention to make quality products.
- Ability to perform job in safe manner.
- Must be able to read and utilize the following measuring instruments: 6 to 12” scale, vernier calipers, comparator, pin gauge, thread gauges, and micrometer.
- Must be able to read blueprints, bills of materials, and part specifications.
- Must understand and have the ability to perform tool wear offsets.
- Must have experience machining one or more of the following materials: nickel-based stainless-steel alloys (Inconel, Monel, etc.), Cooper, Aluminum, and/or Titanium
