What We're Looking For
- Registered by the National Board for Respiratory Care
- Licensed through State of Michigan as a Respiratory Therapist
- Graduated from an accredited Respiratory Therapy Program
- Valid Driver’s License & Clean Driving Record
- Previous supervisory/management experience
- Review and revise departmental policies/procedures/forms.
- Coordinate in-service education programs/seminars that need to be presented internally and externally.
- Develop/revise educational materials for patient and/or caregiver(s).
- Supervise the orientation and training of new staff.
- Evaluate new products/comparative pricing to maximize reimbursement.
- Assume/assign on-call responsibilities to assure after normal business hours coverage for respiratory-related services.
- Assign and complete employee annual evaluations and competency assessments.
- Responsible for continuing education through seminars, in-services, classes, and educational media.
- Coordinate all aspects of services, including physician orders, prescriptions, and statement/certificate of medical necessity.
- Establish and coordinate contact with the patient and caregiver(s) for therapy and equipment instruction.
- Coordinate and assign education and set up home equipment/ supplies for Respiratory Care services.
- Coordinate and oversee an open line of communication with the patient and caregiver(s) with regard to further orders and follow-up.
- Act on behalf of the patient, as a liaison, between the patient and the physician with regard to patient's needs and safety.
- Maintain an open line of communication with fellow employees and coordinate patient services with other departments.
- Participate in case conferences.
- Oversee all clinical aspects of patient care.
