What are the responsibilities and job description for the Certified Orthotist position at Binson's Hospital Supplies Inc.?
WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR:
- Bachelor's Degree, Masters Degree, or Masters Certificate in Orthotics and certification by the American Board for Certification (ABC) as an Orthotist or Certification in Orthotics from the Board of Certification (BOC)
Ability to work well independently and with other management/personnel
Outstanding customer service skills
Durable Medical Equipment experience
WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING:
Maintain good communication skills with customers, referral sources, physicians and staff.
Interview and evaluate customer's prosthetic/orthotic needs.
Under consultation of prescribing physicians (including any additional medical staff involved in the customer's care) fabricate prosthetic and/or orthotic appliances.
Based on physician's prescription, measure, cast and/or fit, discuss therapeutic goals, discuss donning and doffing of product and wear and care of product(s) to customer (this area of responsibility may include travel to and from customer's residence or outside medical facilities).
Determine what manufacture to order from versus in-house central fabricating and what materials to utilize in the manufacturing of customized products for customers.
Excellent documentation skills of customer's history and visit to the prosthetic/orthotic department.
Update skills and product knowledge by attending conferences, seminars and in-house in-services.
Requisition products for the prosthetic/orthotic department based on customer demands.
Maintain, set mins/maxs, and cycle count inventory levels to meet the demands of customer flow.
Assist with departmental marketing efforts
