What are the responsibilities and job description for the Certified Prosthetist/Orthotist position at Binson's Hospital Supplies Inc.?
Bachelor’s Degree OR Master’s Degree in Orthotics & Prosthetics.
Certified by the American Board for Certification in Orthotics and Prosthetics (ABC) and/or Board of Certification/Accreditation (BOC). Certification must be in good standing.
Excellent communication and organizational skills.
Ability to prioritize multiple tasks to completion.
Ability to communicate comprehensively, both written and verbally, and work efficiently with co-workers, management, vendors, suppliers, physicians, etc.
Ability to use good judgment and problem solving skills to provide the best outcome for patients.
A valid driver’s license with no restrictions operating a motor vehicle.
Must have a reliable vehicle and willing to travel to hospitals, nursing homes, clinics, and/or patient’s homes to provide care as needed.
WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING:
Evaluate patients for prostheses or orthoses based on their diagnosis.
Based on physician's prescription measure, cast, or scan for orthotic/prosthetic devices.
Adjust orthosis/prosthesis to obtain an optimal fit for the patient and make adjustments as necessary. This includes both static and dynamic alignment.
Provide clear and proper instructions to the patient on how to use their orthosis or prosthesis.
Repair or adjust orthosis/prosthesis post delivery to maintain a proper fit and function of the device.
Responsible for maintaining all patient records and completing chart notes as needed.
Be willing to work as a team member with both our clinical and technical staff to obtain proper treatment for each patient.
Work with physicians and therapists to collaborate on achieving best care for orthotic/prosthetic patients.
Update knowledge and skills by attending seminars and conferences.
Perform any other duties as assigned.
