Job Summary:
We are seeking an experienced and skilled Residential and Commercial Service Glazier to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in glass installation, repair, and maintenance for both residential and commercial properties. The Glazier position will be responsible for assessing, measuring, cutting, installing, and repairing glass in windows, doors, storefronts, and other applications in both residential and commercial settings.
Key Responsibilities:
- Glass Installation:
- Measure, cut, and install glass for windows, mirrors, doors, and other fixtures in residential and commercial properties.
- Accurately interpret measurements on a tape measure.
- Install glass in frames, sashes, and panels, ensuring secure placement and proper sealing.
- Install tempered, laminated, and insulated glass as required.
- Glass Repair and Maintenance:
- Assess and repair damaged or broken glass in windows, doors, and storefronts.
- Perform glass replacement, re-glazing, and sealant application to ensure the integrity and functionality of glass installations.
- Provide recommendations to clients regarding glass repairs, replacement, or upgrades.
- Customer Service and Communication:
- Communicate effectively with clients to understand their glass needs and provide expert recommendations.
- Provide accurate and timely estimates for glass installation, repair, or replacement services.
- Address any customer concerns or questions, ensuring a high level of customer satisfaction.
- Maintain professionalism and a positive attitude while working on job sites and interacting with clients.
- Experience with mobile application relevant to your job responsibilities or being comfortable using mobile technology to record and report work related functions.
- Safety and Compliance:
- Adhere to safety guidelines and regulations while handling glass and operating tools.
- Ensure that all glass installations and repairs comply with local building codes and safety standards.
- Use personal protective equipment (PPE) such as gloves, goggles, and safety harnesses as needed.
- Properly dispose of broken glass and other materials in accordance with safety protocols.
- Project Management:
- Manage multiple service requests efficiently, ensuring timely completion of jobs.
- Coordinate with other team members, contractors, or subcontractors as necessary to complete complex installations or repairs.
- Maintain accurate records of work performed, including materials used and time spent on each job.
- Tool and Equipment Maintenance:
- Operate and maintain tools and equipment, such as glass cutters, suction cups, power tools, and safety gear.
- Ensure tools and equipment are in good working condition and report any malfunctions or repairs needed.
- Emergency Services:
- Provide emergency glass repair services for clients experiencing urgent issues, such as broken windows or storefront glass.
- Respond promptly to service calls and prioritize emergency repairs as necessary.
Qualifications
- Experience:
- Minimum of 3-5 years of experience as a glazier in both residential and commercial settings.
- Proven experience in glass installation, repair, and replacement.
- Experience with a variety of glass types, including tempered, insulated, laminated, and custom glass.
- Skills:
- Strong knowledge of glass cutting, handling, and installation techniques.
- Familiarity with using glass-related tools and equipment.
- Excellent customer service and communication skills.
- Ability to assess damage and determine the best repair or replacement solutions.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Education/Certification:
- High school diploma or equivalent (required).
- Certification from a recognized trade school or apprenticeship program (preferred).
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation (required).
- Knowledge of OSHA safety standards and best practices (preferred).

Physical Requirements:
- Ability to lift and carry heavy materials (up to 75 lbs) as needed.
- Ability to stand, kneel, bend, and work in various positions for extended periods.
- Comfortable working at heights and on ladders or scaffolding.

- Work will be performed on residential and commercial job sites.
- Outdoor and indoor work, in various weather conditions.
- Must be able to work in a variety of environments, including construction zones, and follow all safety protocols.
